Discernment House: Retreat Jan 15-17th , 2010 PDF Imprimer Email

  Province of Prince Albert- Saskatoon,

Saskatchewan Forty-three young people filled our home for a time of prayer, reflection and community as they sought God and His movement in their lives.  Mother Rivier’s spirit and presence was alive and vibrant here over the weekend as we all experienced God’s abundant love.  The prayer, silence, food and fellowship was enjoyed by all.  Around the dinner table, at recreation times, there was a lot of laughter and joy.     Sr. Evelyn Nedelec and Sr. Mary Jane Beavis animated the retreat with a lot of people working behind the scenes.  We are amazed at what a team of 17 women (the nine resident women of our house, the five of us sisters, our cook Marlene and two volunteer associates) can do and be.   Everyone gave of themselves with joy and simplicity making the weekend go very smoothly.  God definitely did wonders for us and we continue to taste the goodness of it all.

A participant Robin Anderson says, “The retreat provides time away from the routine to reflect on one’s journey in life.”  Jennifer Foley describes her experience,  “Just the feel and the tone when you walk into this house tells you something – it’s a faith community and there is a sense of home when you walk into a community of believers.”

Thank-you for rejoicing with us and together we praise God for all He is doing in and through our lives and the people we meet.
